Will the Recalls Ever End??

http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20070405/ap_on_go_ot/pet_food_recall

Another recall.....this just doesn't seem to ever want to end. Two weeks ago I thought everything that wasn't on the list was ok...until they extended the list....then expanded it again...and again....and there was a company with salmonella, and then the original list got expanded again........just make some good food already, enough is enough. We've been fortunate that the brand we've been using has been off the recall (for now anyway), and it doesn't contain any wheat gluten. But I feel so bad for all those pet owners out there who have been feeding the so-called high quality food, only to find out it's not any better then anything else out there.

Yup. I just did a post about the recall too (well everyone else was, figured I should too!) Although I feed raw, my cat really REALLY likes those stupid expensive rip-off Fancy Feast Medleys and guess what, number two ingredient is wheat gluten. It's not on the lists but I've been holding off on giving it to him. Just in case....

I beg of everyone infinitely to not feed their animals this food! I am going to start making my own food at home. Also, if you throw this food in the garbage, it can easily be eaten by strays or other animals. I beg of you infinitely not to do this either! It would be so sad for another animal to be poisoned by any of this food. I hear that most stores are giving refunds on this food. It is shocking how many brands of food have been recalled! I find that if you have to buy food, the best place is the Health food store, and not a Grocery store. Question everything! Also, avoid pet stores, because they breed animals for money and are very corrupt and cruel! Honestly! The best thing for the environment, and your animals, is to shop at the health food store for pet food. Thanks for reading my comment! I wish you infinite blessings!

I agree with the post above me. I've switched from commercial dog food to a natural raw diet for my dogs, Sam and Bud. I have noticed that they have more energy. My journey, and some free dog food recipes, are on my blog at http://www.homemadehealthypetfood.com+
