CT Pitbull Attack - Blame the Owners
This is a local CT news station. Two pitbulls attacked a mailman, and a neighbor saved the day by driving the dogs off with a hammer. But watch the video, and see how ignorant and rude the owner of the dogs is in the interview. He's blaming the neighbors for not reporting that the dogs got loose - LIKE THEY USUALLY DO! That's right, these dogs get loose all the time, and the neighbors usually call him or the police. But no one called him this time...so how can he know? And then there is laughter throughout the interview, like it's a big joke or something. This is why pitbulls get a bad rep...owners like this!

Was this guy a joke? How had he not been banned from owing a dog after his current dog's PARENTS attacked a person and had to be put down?
And I resent the Anonymous poster above, stating that it was normal for a minority. I am white, but know plenty of 'minorities' who are much more vigilant with their animals - race has nothing to do with it, it is all in the owner's mentality, black, white, or purple.
that guy is a moron. !! and shouldn't be able to own another dog. let alone a pit its people like him who give my dog and millions other a bad rep.
I live in Vernon Ct, and it seems like there's a pit bull at every other house. I have noticed that it is much more prevalent in the LOW INCOME neighborhoods. Before I move here I never even saw a pit bull.
Some of the owners are fine, their dogs are well-behaved, but to me it seems like the majority are constantly barking straining at the end of their chains ready to kill something. The owners are just like this guy...stupid, uncivilized and completely disrespectful of others. These people should not be allowed to have dogs at all, or kids, look how they are being brought up.
A day or two before, I received an email from the animal control officer in Hartford. There are several lovely pit bulls that are in danger of being put down because no one has adopted them.
It is horrible to see people not treat animals properly and I hope the owner receives justice and that people realize what wonderful pets pit bulls can be when properly cared for.
~sigh~ I can't watch it... so stupid
